Kalua Cocktails is a program that aims to help you plan out your next cocktail party perfectly. There's a picture to go with every one of the more than 1,100 cocktails, so your guests can even pick a cocktail according to color. To make sure the program only lists cocktails for which you have the ingredients, simply activate the House Bar function. So that you may offer your guests the greatest possible variety of cocktails, the Shopping Assistant will tell you how to stock your bar most effectively. When the party's over, the Blood Alcohol Level Assistant helps you talk your guests into taking a taxi instead of driving.

The trial version of this promising bartender's guide features 100 cocktails that range from the refreshing Cuba Libre to the creamy Grasshopper. Kalua Cocktails classifies drinks by category (longdrink, cooler) and flavor (fruity, strong). The cocktail assistant asks you what kind of event, drink, and alcohol content you want, but the results are restricted. You can search by flavor, but once you try to search by category, which is trial-restricted, you'll have to restart the program to reactivate flavor searches.

The Barman's Dictionary defines all the ingredients and equipment, adding helpful suggestions about the garnishes. The program can calculate the quantities of each ingredient you'll need to make any amount of the selected drink. The BAC Assistant estimates blood alcohol level based on the number of specific drinks, your weight, and the time elapsed; the trial version will run it once.

The interface lets you change color schemes and mute the loud music. You can print preview, but not print. Some of the ingredients are too specific (Bailey's Irish Cream), while some are too generic (Vodka, Bourbon), and we longed for a way to add ingredients. Despite the restrictions, bon vivants and merry hostesses will appreciate Kalua Cocktails.
