Based on your choice of about 200 RSS feeds, it displays a scrolling readout of stock quotes, weather, and the latest headlines. The demo lets you add only three feeds of your own, but we appreciated features such as stock-price alerts and keyword-based news monitoring. It's easy to drag the ticker backward or forward to read a missed headline or skip ahead. You also can mark news articles for later. Also, though the default split-pane view of the ticker is hard to read, switching to the TV-Ticker Display solves the problem. We disliked the intrusive installation process, which asks for an e-mail address and other personal information, but overall, WorldFlash News Ticker Gold is a reasonable choice for monitoring stock quotes or keeping up with a few news sites.
