Editor's review of Key Stage 2 English (Ages 7-9) This well-rounded educational software offers several English language-building activities, but you'll barely have time to check it out. Key Stage 2 English's main window occupies the entire screen with a graphical bookshelf. Each book represents a subcategory to strengthen your child's spelling, punctuation, common errors, vocabulary, and more. Once we selected a category and level, instructions were read aloud. With no tool tips, however, we had to guess which button checks answers, advances to the next question, or pauses exams. The featured to-do list is handy, and kids will like the crossword, letris, and word search games. Although we like it, Key Stage 2 English gives an unreasonably stingy five minutes for trial and responds slowly to keystroke entries. The 95MBs required for download isn't a great selling point either. Putting these issues aside, we do recommend Key Stage 2 English (Ages 7-9) to parents of elementary school kids or even middle schoolers needing to brush up on their skills.
