Publisher's description

Screen Ruler is an innovative strip magnifier. It enlarges the horizontal strip under the cursor and provides easier viewing of anything on the PC. Screen Ruler will assist anyone with viewing and concentrating on text or pictures. The "strip" or "ruler" across the screen can be magnified, can have the colour contrast changed, and have the background "grayed" or dimmed out if desired. The cursor color can also be changed easily. Screen Ruler will work with any piece of software, as it acts as an "overlay" on the PC screen.
Editor's review of Screen Ruler

This download is aimed at people who have trouble reading what's on the screen, but frankly, we'd suggest glasses instead.

Designed as a kind of digital magnifying glass, the program creates a strip across the screen that doubles the vertical size of everything underneath. This might have been useful if the magnified area followed the cursor, but instead, the strip moves up and down only when the cursor touches the upper or lower end of the strip. Essentially this means you're stuck guessing, since getting the cursor in place requires moving it through a now-invisible area of the screen.

In our tests, the program crashed shortly after its first launch. We also were not pleased with the considerable size of the installation package or the high price to register the software. While recognizing that it may help some users, we'd nevertheless recommend passing this one by.
