Publisher's description
Stop Pop PLUS is most reliable software to protect your valuable time and data against dangerous Web sites, which are spawning unwanted pop-ups. It will kill pop-ups immediately and assure that no dangerous action is performed. Even more, stop Pop PLUS has integrated Dataminer Scanner. This extra feature will help you to detect and remove Adware and Spyware data bases from your PC.
Editor's review of Stop Pop Plus Considering all the competition on the market, we expect much more from this shareware application. Stop Pop Plus claims to block unwanted pop-up ads while browsing and even attemps to monitor malware and spyware. Yet in our tests, far too many pop-ups made it past its protection. Not only did the program allow pop-up windows while in its "high-protection" mode, it also allowed fly-in advertisements. The program's Dataminer Scanner, billed as an added barrier against malware and spyware, turned out to simply be a basic utility for inspecting cookies. On the positive side, Stop Pop Plus didn't slow our browser (it only works with Internet Explorer, unfortunately). We were able to view desired pop-ups without much problem, given the program's scrappy yet convenient interface. If you want to allow pop-ups from a certain Web site, Stop Pop Plus gives you the option in two mouse clicks directly in your browser window. We also discovered that the program takes up a lot of memory while running in the background--almost 7 MB. Overall, Stop Pop Plus stops some pop-ups, but it could be far more aggressive.
