Editor's review of CyberDefender SafeSEARCH Toolbar This toolbar thwarts phishing attempts and warns you of malicious sites as you happen upon them, but it didn't halt flagged sites from loading during our tests. CyberDefender works with Internet Explorer and offers minimal features in comparison to similar toolbar applications. Searches are conducted by Google, and its history can be instantly wiped away from a short drop-down list.Once a page fully loads, the toolbar gives the site's rating (based on previous activity) and indicates it by an icon, text, or both. Our favorite feature is the Site Info button, which tells a site's host name, cookie and script counts, protocol, and more. You can also view and disable stored passwords on IE and block pop-ups. The application's settings features allowed us to rearrange the bar to our liking.Although CyberDefender indicates from the bar whether a site is a threat, it doesn't block the page from loading or await further notice. Even so, we appreciate the way it IDs the bad guys from the start. Security-conscious users will like this free tell-all application.
