Publisher's description
AdsNoMore is a pop-up stopper and banner-ad blocker designed to eliminate all the ads that disrupt your online experience. It will stop adware and spyware pop-ups, Web pop-ups from Internet Explorer, Netscape, Opera, and Mozilla, and banners, resulting in faster browsing. It also allows you to block messager-service ads from software such as Kazaa, AIM, MSN, and ICQ. AdsNoMore allows you to define a whitelist and a blacklist of URLs; to configure ad servers; to keep a log of every blocked pop-up and banner; and to configure sound notifications of all blocks. AdsNoMore provides additional protection even if you run firewall software such as ZoneAlarm or antispyware software such as Ad-Aware. AdsNoMore is all you will ever need to keep your computer free of ads.
Editor's review of AdsNoMore After spending some time with this program, we found it to be a rather capable line of defense against various Web ads. After installation, you'll find AdsNoMore in your system tray, and when you click the icon, you'll probably appreciate the well-organized, tabbed structure. Like most anti-ad tools worth their salt, this one lets you approve pop-ups from certain sites via a keystroke or by an entering a URL in the whitelist. Clicking the Options tab offers choices for stopping pop-ups, banners, or Flash ads, and the program contains a separate log for each type of pest. Along similar lines, we liked that AdsNoMore plays a different sound depending on what sort of nuisance it vanquishes. In our testing, this utility took care of just about every kind of ad it encountered--including IM pop-ups--though a few floating instances did manage to squeak through. Still, we can recommend this program to anyone who wants to protect him or herself from a variety of annoying ads.
