Editor's review of Ace Poster This handy application creates posters or banners using a standard printer with a minimum of fuss. Ace Poster's interface is fairly straightforward, with only a few buttons for opening, scanning, cropping, and printing images. This application gets points for taking the guesswork out of sizing by automatically filling in the height and width fields based on the image. You also can enter a custom size for either height or width and the program will automatically calculate and display the missing measurement. The program supports numerous image file formats, and it proves equally easy to pull them from a hard drive, scanner, or digital camera. The cropping tool is pretty basic, but works in an instant. The moment your finger lifts from the mouse, the portion of the image you selected is displayed. Fortunately, the 1:1 button can restore the original image if you're not satisfied with the results. Also useful is the status bar displaying the output paper size and number of sheets it will take to make your poster and the option to selectively print pages. The demo version adds a watermark on printed pages, so don't expect to use your test posters. Despite this trial limitation, Ace Poster achieves high marks for its user-friendly approach.
