Publisher's description
Doppler is a Podcast aggregator. It s a tool to subscribe to RSS feeds, which supply downloadable files. Doppler will go out and fetch the files enclosed in the RSS feed and will automatically add them to your preferred media player. And it does this in a very smooth and unattended manner. It s simple--really.
Editor's review of Doppler Probing the deepest reaches of the Internet for captivating content, Doppler is a user-friendly tool that makes it easy to subscribe to and download your favorite Podcasts. The single-window interface features a lone search field where the hunt for Podcasts begins. Searches are lightning fast with plenty of accurate results. Editing feeds bring up a myriad of options for downloading old programs and file tags, as well as a username/password dialog for restricted subscriptions. We like the feature called ""Space savers,"" which intelligently manages downloaded files to prevent outdated programs from filling up your drive. Podcasts can be added to iTunes, Windows Media Player, or another application of your choice. Other handy features include drag-and-drop transfers for feed URLs, a convenient taskbar module, the ability to set a default group of parameters for new feeds, and a deluxe scheduler. While we found Doppler a solid app for hooking up with our favorite Podcasts, we wish the majority of its functionality wasn t buried in the options menus. Nevertheless, we recommend Doppler to both Podcast veterans and rookies.
