Teleport Pro is a fully automated, multithreaded, link-following, file-retrieving webspider. It will retrieve all the files you want - and only the files you want - from any part of the Internet. Teleport Pro can completely copy a website, enabling you to 'offline browse' the site at much greater speeds than if you were to browse the site online; search a website for files of a certain type (and even size); and make exact duplicates of websites. Version 1.44 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.Editor's review of Teleport Pro
This software not only downloads entire Web sites to your hard drive, it also can download parts of any site and search a site by keyword or filename. Teleport Pro copies an entire site to a location you specify, and the software is highly configurable. During download, the program constantly displays how many files it has found, how many are downloaded, and how many remain. Browsing the downloaded pages works well. If you try to view something that wasn't downloaded, the program will display a message saying that it wasn't copied to the hard disk. The performance of the program matches the quality of its organization. If you're looking for an offline browser, give Teleport Pro a try.

MetaProducts Inquiry Pro makes Internet research a snap. Collect, organize, and view information from the Web on your terms, quickly and easily. It is fully integrated with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Inquiry Pro stores various Web files: entire Web pages, selected text and images, and Shockwave Flash clips.Version 1.6 added the Elements tab to the Page Properties dialog, added ability to change page thumbnail (in the Page Properties dialog), added ability to backup selected pages.Editor's review of MetaProducts Inquiry Professional Edition
MetaProducts Inquiry Professional Edition offers just the right tools for online researchers. And we give it a thumbs-up for its ability to run as an add-on incorporated with Internet Explorer or as a standalone browser. As a standalone, it offers an uncluttered, user-friendly interface with a number of buttons in its toolbar; a vertical directory-tree style pane on the left of its window; and a larger browser pane on the right. The included tutorial clears up any mysteries a user might have for its use. The IE-embedded version functions within the larger frame of IE with its array of toolbars and features, so users who prefer IE's options for working on projects won't have to do without them. The tool performed quickly and very satisfactorily during our tests. We were able to navigate to a number of sites and quickly save them to our hard drive. We were doubly pleased that we could save a page with the choice of whether to include its graphics just by dragging its hyperlink from a page to the appropriate folder in the vertical directory-tree pane. The app includes options for viewing a saved pages source code and its URLs, for saving it as a thumbnail graphic, and for editing its content--all very useful when developing a report or other sort of presentation from saved pages. While MetaProducts Inquiry Professional Edition is easy to use and offers a robust feature set, its post-trial price might be a bit steep for most users. However, if you perform a lot of research online, this tool for capturing and editing pages will be very handy as you work on projects.

HTTrack is a free and easy-to-use offline browser utility. You can download the contents of entire Web sites from the Internet to a local directory for offline viewing. Simply open a page of the mirrored Web site in your browser and browse the site link by link as if you were viewing it online. HTTrack also can update existing mirrored sites and resume interrupted site downloads. The program is fully configurable and includes an integrated help system. It crawls M3U and AAM files and can cache to a ZIP file.Editor's review of HTTrack Website Copier
This program copies Web sites from the Internet for offline browsing. The installation actually allows you to choose not to install a Start menu folder, a rare favor. HTTrack Website Copier downloads sites into a My Web Sites folder it creates, which you will have to remove manually if you uninstall. On start-up, a dialog box immediately asks what proxy server it should use, which is off-putting. The sheer number of configuration options for mirroring made us dizzy. You can enable or disable external link crawling, downloading of classes of files such as DOC or JSS, and just about anything else. The default settings didn't preserve some aspects of some complex sites, such as font and background color, but surely that is just a configuration option in one of the many menus. Ripping an entire site took less time than clicking through a couple pages of it online. Whether you're a casual user looking to grab a collection of pug pictures or a Webmaster wanting to work on your site from a new computer, this is well-worth the free download.

QuadSucker/Web is a multithreaded Web site downloader. It is optimized for downloading images, and includes built in support for viewing GIF, JPEG, BMP, and other picture files. Other types of files are also downloaded, including sound, applications, and text/html. It automatically spiders and downloads entire sites. Setup options allow limits on spidering depth and types of files to download. Built-in duplicate database and duplicate remembering. Built-in cookie tracking allows you to download sites that use cookies to try to prevent automated downloading. Supports downloading from both standard (http) and SSL (https) Web sites.Editor's review of QuadSucker/Web
If you want to download an entire Web site or just a portion of one for offline reading, this is the app for you. QuadSucker/Web is a multithread downloader optimized for graphics, text, sound, and app files. The download was a little slow, but installation ran quickly. This app has a nicely arranged interface that fosters easy and intuitive use. When downloading an entire site, the interface's multiple panes reflect the activity in each thread, and the graphics appear in each pane as the download progresses. The app performed very quickly in our tests. QuadSucker/Web met each challenge, whether we downloaded an entire site with many pages and an abundance of image files, or chose just a single page from a very extensive site. This shareware app presents a nag screen at launch, but that's a minor irritation for such fine performance. Any user interested in offline viewing and reading will find QuadSucker/Web a handy tool.

MicroSurfer combines an Internet accelerator, an offline browser, and a bookmark manager in one application that optimizes Web access by allowing you to jump directly among links without having to wait for Web pages to load or to backtrack in your browser. Collect links from any Web page by dragging them from your browser and dropping them into the MicroSurfer window. Links added to MicroSurfer are automatically downloaded to your hard drive while you surf the Web. Click on a downloaded link in MicroSurfer and the page immediately pops up in your browser.Editor's review of MicroSurfer Plus Edition
Nobody likes to sit around waiting for Web pages to load. This Internet navigation tool loads pages in the background, letting you jump among links without waiting for pages to display. Simply drag the links from the browser and drop them into the MicroSurfer interface, and it loads while you visit other sites or take that much-deserved coffee break. The intuitive interface lets you arrange your browser and the MicroSurfer window in a way that's comfortable for you. We preferred to maximize our browser and keep the MicroSurfer window off to one side. However, we found it counterproductive to have to drag and drop each link rather than just click a link for automatic loading. Overall, we found MicroSurfer to be an invaluable tool, especially for those who suffer from a slow or unreliable Internet connection, since it lets you easily collect, organize, and share links. In addition, MicroSurfer increases surfing speed for broadband connections. By collecting all the links you want to see on your first visit to a page, you never have to backtrack, and you can download multiple links at once, thus saving you time no matter what your connection speed is.

PageSucker is a small utility that allows entire Web page hierarchies to be downloaded automatically so that they can be viewed offline. The main features include strong URL filters to restrict the downloads to only the desired files, automatic rebuilding of the server's file system hierarchy on the client side, and the option to download pages up to a certain recursion depth. Multithreaded, it allows for more than one connection to a server to be opened at a time. Version 3.2 features CSS stylesheet support, options to delete unused empty or incomplete files, and bug fixes.

Webaroo is a free software application that gives you the power to store, browse and search web content on the go. Webaroo's advanced technology enables you to search web content offline on your Windows laptop/desktop, Windows Mobile PDA/Smartphone, portable storage devices, and U3 devices. With Webaroo you can: store your web content (web packs and web sites), search or browse the content that you've stored offline, sync your content (optional) to a Windows mobile device to access the latest web content on the go. Webaroo is fast, free, and always on. It offers download of over 100 web packs, like Wikipedia, News, Sports, Celebrities. You can also download your browser bookmarks, favorites or almost any website to access on the go. Webaroo is available in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, and Spanish languages and can be also downloaded from the developer's Web site. Version 1.3.94 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.Note: The Download Now link will download a small installer file to your desktop. Remain online and double-click the installer to proceed with the actual download.Editor's review of Webaroo
Webaroo impressively gives offline access to online Web pages, though our Internet Explorer and Firefox favorites didn't download. This cool software quickly stores selected pages to its cache and gives you offline access to them via its system tray icon. It worked quite well, aside from the fact that our Favorites list did not successfully download (despite a message to the contrary). The program did successfully let us add sites one by one and as Web packs. With Web packs, you can download several sites at once based on a particular category such as blogs, culture, entertainment, or games. It doesn't give the standard interface, but rather an easy-to-navigate Web page-like interface. Adding sites was easy, and though downloads were a bit slow, we were impressed with the outcome. You can even schedule automatic updates once a day at a specific time. Advanced settings are great for filtering what gets downloaded to your system. Though we aren't pleased that our Favorites didn't download, we like this program's aptitude. You'll need Microsoft .NET 2.0 to run it, but you'll like having access to Web pages on your mobile devices and laptop.

The Website Extractor program is conveniently designed to download Internet Web sites exactly the way you want them, including or excluding any parts you need or don't need (such as directory, domain and file names, types of files, their size, or any other properties). The Extractor can download up to 100 files at a time, which saves you a huge amount of time compared to ordinary browsers. All data retrieved are stored in the directory you select and contain only the files and directories matching your filter instructions. Website Extractor offline Web browser automatically allows you to download any files that were not copied due to transfer errors or bad connections. Version 9.6 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes. Editor's review of Website Extractor
Users can quickly download an entire Web site for offline viewing with this application, though some graphics may not download properly and the app's browser usefulness is limited.Website Extractor has an attractive, multipaned interface that can easily be changed to a different configuration. In our tests, sites downloaded rapidly, including those rich with graphics. We were able to choose file types and sizes to exclude from the download, select the level of links to follow, and specify whether to download all files or just new files from a site. As another plus, the search feature provided in the Site Map pane worked very well. Downloading graphics presented a problem. Many image links were broken, even though we specified including the graphics files. Further, offline viewing of sites with Website Extractor's built-in browser offered broken or overlapping lines of text, suggesting that the app can't resolve some coding issues that may result from sites being designed for optimal viewing with a particular browser. Website Extractor may be handy for archival purposes and for those who are interested in checking how a site changes, or for users who use a slow Internet connection and prefer to read Web sites offline.

MDI viewer program is written for accusation, then no way to see MDI file because of impossible to install Office 2003 on old PC. This program can not replace Micrisoft office 2003 viewer but is useful then you can't install it.Version fixes printing of any selected page and fixes file association.Editor's review of MDI Viewer
This simple image-viewing tool offers some basic features that work fine, but other programs with more bells and whistles are available.MDI Viewer's interface is an unremarkable window with a menu bar across the top. We found one strike against it right off the bat in the lack of a desktop shortcut, which the setup program said it would install. There's no help file to speak of--just an About message box in such broken English that it's hard to know what it's trying to communicate. But the program is self-explanatory, so no help is really necessary. The program performed the basics quickly and smoothly. It will open and view, zoom and/or rotate the image files of your choice: MDIs, TIFFs, JPEGs and so on. Don't expect to find any editing features. Perhaps suspiciously, the test document that accompanies the tool is a screenshot of the Microsoft.com Web page that describes the MDI format, which leads us to wonder about the legitimacy of this tool.If you want to use an MDI viewer for displaying image files, this viewer may appeal to you, although more robust tools can be found.

With No Problemo Website Downloader, you can copy entire websites onto your hard drive so you can browse them offline, save them for the future. No Problemo Website Downloader has been designed so that anyone can easily use it. For the advanced user, there are options for filtering out unwanted pages, custom settings so you can choose what file types to download, and the ability to change the number of download connections. Version 2 includes interface enhancements. 100 file download limit per Web site.Editor's review of No Problemo Website Downloader
Cheesy name aside, downloading Web sites is not a problem with this app, providing you don't run into a dreaded run-time error. No Problemo Website Downloader's two-screen interface couldn't be easier to use. The first screen starts a wizard. Users simply enter the site URL to download and the local save directory. Press a single button and the site downloads to your system--except for our testers who were struck with a run-time error. Testing discovered that those users had to choose a timeout interval through the options dialog. No Problemo Website Downloader makes it very easy to download select file types. Default values include the 12 most-popular file extensions. Unfortunately, you can only download by extension as setting file prefixes is not allowed. Oddly, the user cannot set the number of concurrent connections in the opening wizard. The option becomes available only through the second interface screen. Web sites are quickly saved to your hard drive. Everything is stored by domain URL. This causes problems viewing sites spanning multiple URLs. CSS and JavaScript information is often inaccessible from the primary download directory. Nevertheless, this is one of the easiest-to-use Web site download tools we've tested. Novice users looking for an easy way to download a site should give No Problemo Website Downloader a try.

SaveForm is an Internet Explorer add-on for convenient saving of visited web pages. It allows saving web forms' content. For instance, you can enter some text on a page and then get that text saved along with the page source. Movies, flash, images are also saved along with page. Optionally, you can set the datestamp to be automatically added to the file name. Web pages can be saved in both mht or html formats. Version 2.32 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.Editor's review of SaveForm
SaveForm allows you to save Web pages, so that you can easily revisit them by opening a file instead of first opening a browser and navigating to the site.SaveForm is an unobtrusive add-on for Microsoft Internet Explorer. You can access it by right-clicking in an open Web page, selecting the Save As command from the Tools menu, or by adding a SaveForm button to the IE toolbar. You can save pages as either .htm or .mht formats--in the latter format, all relative links are saved as part of the file instead of in a separate folder, making it the better format for embedding a page in an e-mail.Oddly enough, we found that even if our default browser was not IE, SaveForm saved the files in the default browser setting anyway. But since SaveForm only works with IE, those saved files are unavailable for use when you open them.A hindrance in using the trial version was the purchase reminder that appears each time you use SaveForm to save a page. Despite the program's flaws, any user who visits particular Web pages frequently may find this a handy way to save access to those pages.

Need to save Web articles? Focused more on article extraction as opposed to Web site extraction, Rip Clip has specific features for this task that make it superior to other offline browsing tools. Features include the ability to get information about the structure of your Web article to easily determine whether you're missing any pages; the ability to control precisely which pages you want; and a simplistic interface for collecting Web pages while you surf. This ensures you download only the pages you want, without missing the pages you need; saving on download time and disk space (critical for browsing on a PDA). Version 2.1 can now extract a Web article to a single .chm file; added "Refs" column on the "Excluded Pages" tab; now supports reverse sorting of all columns.Editor's review of Rip Clip
If you want to quickly download articles and other materials for offline browsing, you might try Rip Clip. Once you install the software, all you have to do is type the URL of the site you want and press Enter. Alternately, open the page you want and right-click, then select Rip Clip. Once you've ripped the page, click Extract to save the contents to your hard drive. You can set which file types to extract, too. The best thing about the program is the Excluded Pages tab, which shows you all the links Rip Clip didn't follow. You can browse among those pages to see whether you missed anything good. You can save hours of online time using this program, and spend hours exploring it.

You can capture whole Web page by clicking a button on the toolbar. PageScanner is an extension of Internet Explorer. You can also use many functions. The captured image can be cropped, resized, and simulated several browsers appearance.Editor's review of PageScanner
This add-on quickly captures Web screenshots with a minimum of fuss, but its an Internet Explorer exclusive. PageScanner places an additional toolbar button on your Web browser. Web page screenshots are created in just a few clicks, and you can send them to the clipboard or save them to a user-specified folder. BMP, JPEG, TIFF, or PNG image formats are supported. Even users who haven't worked with image editing programs will be able to use the simple tools to strip elements like the scroll bars and browser frame from the images. PageScanner also includes straightforward tools for cropping and resizing images, and you can create customized image-capture presets by saving your settings. PageScanner works well and demonstrated good capture speed in our tests, but users who prefer other popular browsers like Firefox or Opera won't be able to use this IE add-on. There's a short, 14-day trial restriction, but PageScanner is easy enough for any user to quickly grab screenshots from the Web.

Save reference material, online books, e-zines, news articles and other Web content permanently to your hard disk. Share or view them later, without an Internet connection. WebZIP offers a fast and easy way to download, store and view Web pages or entire Web sites offline. It lets you download complete Web sites, or choose settings for depth of retrieval, file-types, location, or advanced URL filters, to fine tune your Web captures. Version 7.0.3.103 improved and simplified user interface and added new PageSaver option.Editor's review of WebZIP
This program is a handy Web grabber but could be better with a few more features. WebZIP downloads and stores any type of file, whether whole pages or plug-ins, from the Web to your hard drive. In our tests, WebZIP performed well, but we would have liked a bit more control over what we were downloading. For example, if we didn't want a whole Web page (JPEGs and all), we weren't able to specify individual page files--which meant we ended up saving a lot of junk along with the files we wanted. The start page could stand a few drop-down menus to help clear the button clutter, too. Useful download reports help you sort through files before you hit Go. Overall, WebZIP works, but we'd love a few more features to fine-tune downloads.

enLighter Retriever is more than 10 search toolbars in one. Add the power of Google, Yahoo, MSN, and many other search engines to your Explorer Browser. You remember the what, where, and when of past searches, and keep it private. enLighter Retriever, the only multisearch engine toolbar, lets you use your favorite search engine to find information and then lets you capture content to your library. Retriever works like a regular highlighter. Highlight sections on pages in different colors, such as green, red, and blue, to make your point stand out. Then go back and search only for your blue highlights or green notes. Add your voice to e-mails when sending information to your friends. Adding notes and highlights to Web pages helps you get to the point, fast. And, once you "enLighten" a Web page, you can fetch it anytime, online or offline. enLighter Retriever uses the age-old practice of color-coding information to keep all of your Web pages organized, indexed, and searchable in your personal library. This version may feature unspecified improvements and bug fixes.Editor's review of enLighter Retriever
As a research aid, enLighter Retriever works very well, letting you highlight and write comments on Web pages. Its IE-only toolbar includes buttons to highlight and add comments to pages, as well as search boxes for comments you have created and Web searches. enLighter comes preloaded with three highlighter and comment categories, Work, Personal, and Fun. You can add more categories or change the color and font style of existing ones. However, we found making the font size too big rendered highlighted text unreadable. The Web search offers 10 major search engines to choose from, although we had to choose to refresh the list from the developer's Web site to make all of them available. Unfortunately you can't enter your own search engines, which limits the usefulness of the software for specialized research. Beyond a few customization problems and its IE-only nature, enLighter Retriever proves a useful assistant for Web research.

SurfOffline is a convenient offline browser with an easy-to-use interface and navigation. It is capable of downloading up to 100 files simultaneously and can save any Web site to your hard drive completely or partially in minutes. Another important feature is a wizard like interface that enables the users to quickly set up downloading rules. Importantly, the program supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, proxy servers, CSS, and JavaScript parsing. Also, SurfOffline comes with support for HTTP and FTP authorization, sessions, and cookies. Program's built-in internal browser lets you download Web sites with Web forms that require authentication. Built-in HTTP server lets you share downloaded files with other computers via intranet.Editor's review of SurfOffline
The program helps you download various sites from the Internet for offline browsing. When you launch the software, a wizard guides you through setting up the program. You have to create new projects, where each new project is a single site or page. The wizard first asks you to name the new project and specify its Web link. After that you specify whether you want to download all levels of the site, the start page and a set number of levels you note, or the start page only. Then you select what content you want to download from among images, video, audio, and archives. Advanced download options feature more detailed options. SurfOffline can simultaneously serve as a fully functional online Web browser. It's a bit hard to browse through a downloaded page or site within the program, but otherwise this is a fine program for anyone looking to make the most of their time online.

This is a free offline browser. Copy Web pages or entire sites for viewing offline. It can quickly download many items at once. It is easy to use. Just enter the address, and off you go. Filter what is downloaded by file type, size, or text only. Pause and resume at any point. One click launches the browser, file explorer, or the list of new updated items.Editor's review of WebStripper
Like a fan dancer, this Web site downloader promises to reveal more than it delivers.WebStripper promises to make pages available for offline viewing, but it didn't work with all sites and had some overall stability issues to boot. Its traditional folder tree and file menu interface is chock-full of options but offers little direction for getting started. The process is fairly simple, however, and once users choose a favorite site and answer a few basic questions about site depth and download location, WebStripper is off to download the entire site.Or not, as our testers found that some sites completely blocked this application. Unfortunately, WebStripper's error message is hidden and users are left to wonder why the download failed. Our testers also experienced multiple crashes due to exception errors. When it works, WebStripper quickly pulls the text and images from a site onto your computer for offline browsing. It also parses all files to change URLs to those files stored on your machine. This is a boon for those with slow connections, as they can schedule Webstripper to download a favorite site overnight. It includes an offline browser, but IE and Firefox work as well. Despite its listed freeware status, the download has limitations and a trial period. It also adds a watermark to many pages and files.Dial-up users may favor this product, but the app's complexity and frequent execution errors keep it off our recommended list.

eDocOne is a catcher and an organizer for your electronical contents. It enables you to maintain the electronical books for collecting all of your articles on your computer, using a stylish interface and full support for getting contents from Internet, for example web pages, hyperlinks, images, flash and so on. eDocOne is also an electronical-book publishing tool. It enables you to make eBook in .CHM or .EXE format. Version 4.0 improves the Edit feature, saves webpages in internal browser, and improves collecting the MHT pages.Editor's review of eDocOne
We were intrigued by this program's promise of being an e-book creator and electronic file organizer, but found the delivery lacking in speed and flexibility. eDocOne's interface sports a sleek, professional design, but it's undermined by some typos found in the toolbar's tool tips. The sheer number of toolbar options is a bit overwhelming, too, and even longtime PC users will probably need the help file to get started. A two-tiered toolbar sits over a window for viewing Web pages or creating an HTML file. The top tier is a static set of buttons to import, export, and delete files, while the lower buttons depend on whether you're in Normal or Edit mode. The first populates the lower tier with browsing-related buttons, mostly basic navigation, and a field to enter URLs. Edit has a style and formatting toolbar, though it's not as rich as Microsoft Word. But the primary problem is the program's sluggishness. It didn't matter whether it was saving a simple text-only file or one with graphics, eDocOne's save process was painfully slow. In some of our tests, the program locked up while saving files. Changes were lost and the program had to be shut down through Task Manager. We like software that looks good and works well, but we'll give up a spiffy design over greater functionality every time. eDocOne has a good idea, but its publishers need to spend more time under the hood and not on the exterior.

To organize and keep in order all the Web pages you have downloaded, we recommend you use SliceTheWeb - the brand new way to save only that data that you wish to be saved. This innovative software solution lets you arrange and store both whole Web pages and their fragments in a very comfortable way. All pages, notes and other data are always at hand and strictly organized giving you quick access to all your information.Version 1.6.42 fixes bug with Firefox at Microsoft(tm) Windows (tm) 98, customizes slice information bar. Editor's review of SliceTheWeb
Though it's convenient, SliceTheWeb isn't as full featured of a clipping utility as some competitors. Its interface is handy enough, though. To clip a Web-page fragment, just select it and choose the Add Web Slice option from the right-click menu. Slices go into folders of your choosing, and there's a very basic search tool for ferreting them out by name. But the pluses end there. SliceTheWeb can clip entire pages or fragments of text, but it can't extract images. On the plus side, the app now integrates with both Internet Explorer and Firefox. You can save a slice in HTML format, but you can't export multiple slices into one file. There are no features for editing slices. Also, be aware the demo lets you save only 50 slices, though it doesn't impose a trial period. Students with basic capture needs might make do with SliceTheWeb, but many users will opt for one of the more powerful programs in this class.

Save a part of or the entire Web content for offline use. Permanently save all the valuable information you see on the Web. The page content which will be preserved is selected first, then press CTRL+C copy it to clipboard, and at this moment the title of the essay that AmazeCopy can point out you will save after importing to mark to know the title of the page content that present time was duplicated, click ok to save it in second.Editor's review of AmazeCopy
This Internet Explorer add-on takes snapshots of Web page content and saves it, links and all, but its unaccommodating Help menu and confusing design will have you scratching your head.AmazeCopy went awry immediately after installation. Its desktop shortcut failed to work and we could only access the app via its System Tray icon. Double-clicking the icon brought up a browser that features standard navigational buttons and a search field. The process of selecting, copying, and naming the content from a Web page was fairly straightforward. Figuring out where to go from there was a chore. The Help menu sent us to the publisher's site, which only provided an area to send an e-mail.Overall, the time it takes to figure out how to use AmazeCopy detracts from any conveniences it may offer. Users might want to skip this program and use the extra time saved to look for a Web content tool that is easier to use.

Memorize Complete Website Copier allows you to download entire copies of Web sites. Save them onto your hard drive so you can access them when you are not connected to the Internet, or even back them up to other storage media. Memorize comes with options for specifying which type of files you want to download.Editor's review of Memorize Complete Website Copier
This tool lets you download images from a Web site to view offline, but a strict trial limitation stops you from getting the site's complete picture. Memorize Complete Website Copier is not much to look at, but it is functional. The setup is simple, with a browser bar and windows that show the download status and queued files. After we entered a Web address, the program immediately went to work, extracting files and saving them to our hard drive. You're supposed to be able to choose which file types (e.g., HTML, GIF, JPEG) you want pulled from the site, but during testing, the program kept extracting all of the available files. A help menu is missing in action. Another drawback--you can only download up to 100 files per Web site. To view the entire page, you have to register and purchase the product. Overall, Memorize Complete Website Copier performed well during tests, but what's the point if you can't view the entire Web site? Users looking for an offline browser should look for one that snaps the whole picture.

If you're viewing a Web site with your browser and want to make a copy on your hard drive, you have to manually save each page as you view it, along with embedded pictures and sounds. This can be a very long and tedious process, and in many cases it's more trouble than it's worth. It doesn't have to be that way, however, as Web Dumper makes this whole process very fast and easy. With Web Dumper, you can download entire sites off the Internet and save them on your hard drive for later, offline browsing. Downloaded Web sites are saved with their directory structures intact. Web Dumper automatically downloads HTML documents along with their embedded pictures, sounds, and movies, while it screens them to look for any enclosed links to other documents. Version 2.2.3 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.Editor's review of Web Dumper
This utility for downloading Web sites suffers from too many performance and stability problems to earn much of our praise. Web Dumper's clear-cut interface lets you grab all elements on a page by simply entering a URL and pressing a button. A large window displays all downloaded and queued files. Clicking the Preferences tab lets you specify what types of files to include or exclude and how many simultaneous connections to allow. When tested with simple text-heavy sites, Web Dumper performed decently, though it lost some elements such as buttons. However, the utility had much difficulty when working with JavaScript-based sites and exhibited some major instability. In one instance, Web Dumper told us a fully functional site was an invalid URL; in another, it crashed when we tried to download a site using a hot key. Although it looks promising, we can't strongly recommend this program until it runs a lot more smoothly.
